With wxSTC, popup autocompletion lists and call tips need to be able to
show their information and respond to mouse clicks, but should never
take focus from their parent STC. This test verifies that these popups
function in this manner.
No real changes, just clean up sources by removing trailing spaces from
all the non-generated files.
This should hopefully avoid future commits mixing significant changes
with insignificant whitespace ones.
Compute the best size of the notebook, taking into account all the
different layout possibilities, and add a test checking that this works
as expected.

This basically removes the "adv" library, even though it's still
preserved for compatibility with user make/project files referring to
it.
It is done because the distinction between "adv" and "core" was never
really clear (e.g. why wxTreeCtrl was in core but wxTreeListCtrl in
adv?) and it prevented some core classes from using adv ones.
It seems better to organize the tests in different files and just
provide a common fixture-like class to reuse functionality.
Also use this as an opportunity to rewrite the tests to use Catch
directly instead of using CppUnit-compatible macros.
Finally, actually build these tests as part of the test suite.
Drop the legacy CppUnit testing framework used for the unit tests.
Replacing it with Catch has the advantage of not requiring CppUnit
libraries to be installed on the system in order to be able to run
tests (Catch is header-only and a copy of it is now included in the
main repository itself) and, in the future, of being able to write
the tests in a much more natural way.
For now, however, avoid changing the existing tests code as much as
[reasonably] possible to avoid introducing bugs in them and provide
the CppUnit compatibility macros in the new wx/catch_cppunit.h header
which allow to preserve the 99% of the existing code unchanged. Some
of the required changes are:
- Decompose asserts using "a && b" conditions into multiple asserts
checking "a" and "b" independently. This would have been better
even with CppUnit (to know which part of condition exactly failed)
and is required with Catch.
- Use extra parentheses around such conditions when they can't be
easily decomposed in the arrays test, due to the use of macros.
This is not ideal from the point of view of messages given when
the tests fail but will do for now.
- Rewrite asserts using "a || b" as a combination of condition
checks and assert macros. Again, this is better anyhow, and is
required with Catch. Incidentally, this allowed to fix a bug in
the "exec" unit test which didn't leave enough time for the new
process to be launched before trying to kill it.
- Remove multiple CPPUNIT_TEST_SUITE_NAMED_REGISTRATION() macros,
our emulation of this macro can be used only once.
- Provide string conversions using Catch-specific StringMaker for
a couple of types.
- Replace custom wxImage comparison with a Catch-specific matcher
class.
- Remove most of test running logic from test.cpp, in particular don't
parse command line ourselves any longer but use Catch built-in
command line parser. This is a source of a minor regression:
previously, both "Foo" and "FooTestCase" could be used as the name of
the test to run, but now only the latter is accepted.
Chinese, Japanese etc translations use a special style for the menu mnemonics
and append them to the translated menu label in brackets, e.g. the menu label
could have the form of "<translation-of-file> (&F)".
Check for this style of mnemonics in wxStripMenuCodes() too and strip them as
well.
Update the bounding box in all the methods drawing something. This wasn't
done before in many of them, resulting in the bounding box remaining empty,
but it is updated now and a new test checking that it is was added.

Check that DrawText() results in the expected output.
Currently the tests are disabled for non-Windows systems because of the
problem with the reference file paths there.

This fixes an ODR violation which could arise if wxWeakRef<T> was seen both
when T was an incomplete (e.g. just forward-defined) class and when it was
complete. As different implementations, with different binary layouts, were
used in these two cases, this resulted in fatal run-time problems.
Fix this by always using the slightly less efficient (because storing an extra
pointer) but simpler and safe "dynamic" wxWeakRef implementation.
Also get rid of checks for the ancient compilers such as VC6 and g++ < 3.3,
they are not supported any longer.

While we can't change the type of wxVariant to which SAFEARRAYs are converted
by default, it's much more convenient to work with the variant objects of the
correct type, i.e. using wxVariantDataSafeArray, when dealing with SAFEARRAYs,
so add a flag which can be set to tell a wxAutomationObject to behave in this
way.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

This method allows to request exiting from the given event loop even if it's
not the currently active one, unlike Exit() which would assert in this case.
With it, it becomes possible to ask the loop to terminate as soon as possible
even if a nested loop is currently running.

Check that resizing the test horse image produces the same results in the
future as it does now, by saving the current results in files and verifying
that images resized directly and loaded from these files are the same.

Override GetMainWindowOfCompositeControl() in the windows composing the
generic wxSearchCtrl to ensure that HasFocus() correctly returns true for the
entire control when any of them has focus.
Add a trivial unit test to check that this really works and facilitate adding
more tests for this class later.

This change doesn't actually change anything for the "normal" ports as it only
affects wxGTK/MSW which is not officially supported yet, so the make/project
files are unchanged by it.

Document which wxRegion methods can and can't be used when the region itself
is invalid.
Apply the minor changes to wxGTK (Xor() didn't do the right thing, Offset()
didn't assert) and wxOSX (Offset() crashed) to make their behaviour consistent
with wxMSW.
Add a (trivial, so far, but to be extended later) wxRegion unit test checking
that the methods do indeed behave as documented.

This is a facade for wxDataViewCtrl allowing to easily work with multi-column
trees, possibly with an optional checkbox in the first column. Its API is very
similar to wxTreeListCtrl and it provides a simple migration path from the
latter.
Add the class itself, documentation for it and minimal unit tests.

IsEmpty() didn't exist in all ports (notably not wxMSW) and its meaning was
unclear anyhow, so remove it even from the ports where it did exist and add
clear Is{List,Text}Empty() replacements instead.

The internally stored date value was getting out of sync with the real date in
the control itself when SetValue() was called with a date out of the currently
set range. This resulted in an assert failure and other unpleasantness later.
Fix the bug and add a unit test checking for it (and also with some other
basic wxDatePickerCtrl checks).

Added toplevel.cpp to GUI test projects and removed the test suite from the unnamed registry so that by default its tests don't run (some regarding ShowWithoutActivating are failing). This way at least the source file has more of a chance to be in a compilable state (compilation was broken). toplevel.cpp has never been included in a project since its addition in r62508 ("[...] until the mainloop issues are resolved [...]").
