Big color update with the newest information

from the GTK+ hot-line, eh mail-list. The news
is that they don't know what they do.
Conversion from 12pt, wxSWISS, wxNORMAL, wxNORMAL to
GTK+ system font
Probably some other things

General tidy-up (mainly typecasts) to allow the use of the SGI native
