The changes of adb8bbab4d (Sort font names in the dialog showing them in
the font sample, 2022-05-12) didn't compile with wxUSE_STL==1 because
wxSortedArrayString doesn't inherit from wxArrayString in this case.
Fix this by using wxArrayString and its Sort() method instead.
This makes the list of the fonts much more readable, compared to listing
them in essentially random order.
Incidentally stop using manual memory allocation to avoid giving a bad
example.
Pass wxStrings directly to wxString::Format("%s") and similar
pseudo-vararg functions, there is no need for c_str() there since
wxWidgets 2.9.

Live changes don't work correctly in all ports, notably wxQt, which
doesn't seem to generate the events correctly for wxSpinCtrl, so add a
button to apply the changes.
This could be seen as a better UI anyhow.
Handle this feature as all the other ones and provide a configure switch
and a setup.h option to disable it if necessary, as it may be desirable
to do it, especially under Linux, to avoid extra dependency on pangoft2
if this functionality is unnecessary.
Just "activate" the font immediately when adding it using
AddPrivateFont(), nothing seems to be gained from having two functions
and it just makes things more complicated both when implementing and
when using the API.
wxFont::AddPrivateFont() can now be used to load a font from a file for the
applications private use. Update the font sample to show this.

This variable was never used and appears to have been created
accidentally, so just remove it and avoid variable shadowing warnings
from MSVS 2015 when building the sample.
This can be used to "undo" the result of Bold() ,Underlined() or Italic()
methods and returns an unadorned version of the font.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

This helper class allows to create wxFonts using shorter and more readable
code, e.g.
wxFont font(12, wxFONTFLAG_DEFAULT,
wxFONTSTYLE_NORMAL, wxFONTWEIGHT_NORMAL, true,
"DejaVu Sans");
can now be written simply as
wxFont font(wxFontInfo(12).FaceName("DejaVu Sans").Underlined());
Remove the ctor from font flags added in r70445 as it's not needed any longer
now that we have this one and adding it resulted in compilation errors in the
existing code which compiled with 2.8 because of ambiguities between that ctor
and wxFont(int size, int family, int style, int weight. bool underlined, ...)
one, e.g.
wxFont(12, wxFONTFAMILY_SWISS, wxNORMAL, wxNORMAL)
didn't compile any more but it does compile again now.

MS and Apple guidelines mention ellipses should generally be used when a command needs additional information from the user before the operation can execute. This is not the case for showing an about dialog so the ellipses have been removed.

Additionally renamed wxOSX' private wxNativePrinterDC::Ok() function to IsOk().
Didn't deprecate the various Ok() functions: given the amount of changes already introduced in 3.0 a trivial one like this seems more suitable for after 3.0.

It is definitely not necessary to call SetTopWindow() when there is only a
single top level window and it is arguable whether it's useful to do it even
when there are many of them so don't encourage its use in the documentation
and also remove all its occurrences from the samples.

There are no real changes in this commit but it removes all trailing white
space from our source files. This avoids problems when applying patches and
making diffs and it would be nice to prevent it from reappearing.

Standardize on using sample.rc and sample icon in all the samples, it was
confusing that some of them used it and other didn't, without any apparent
logic.
Remove the now unnecessary icon files, including the dialogs sample icon which
seemed to be corrupted (this closes#11146).
Also replace multiple OS/2 resource files with a single one in the sample
directory. The OS/2 projects/makefiles would need to be updated to use them.
Remove dialogs sample icon.

there is no need for an object or pointer (s.member or
p->member). There are also a few bugs with incorrect
usage of wxString::Format and wxString::FromAscii.
